About CSP

Community Service Programs of West Alabama, Inc. (CSP) is a private, nonprofit, community action agency, created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. CSP is dedicated to improving the quality of life for low-income and vulnerable populations in its service area. The agency uses public and private funding sources to develop and administer its various programs and encourages participation in coalitions with other organizations.

The agency's mission is to provide resources and services to low-income and vulnerable populations, which resolve immediate needs and lead to long term self-sufficiency. In addition, CSP raises awareness regarding economic, social, educational and housing needs of low-income and vulnerable citizens.

The agency's service area includes Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar and Tuscaloosa counties in West Alabama. The agency provides weatherization services only in Sumter and Pickens counties.

which is utilized to administers programs and services that create opportunities for individual/family improvements as well as community economic development. CSP develops strategies to help individuals, families and their communities through ongoing funding, human resources and managed assets. Results-Oriented Management Accountability (ROMA) is used to measure the impact of the agency in assisting West Alabama citizens.
